Most of Robert Skene Consulting Ltd's team have an engineering background with many years of hard-earned experience of delivering schemes on time and on budget, and as such, are well placed to provide robust and well-founded advice. 

We provide supporting services as part of client teams, advising on issues such as procurement strategy, tendering, and tender evaluation. As such, we are accustomed to working within a team alongside other professional organisations (e.g. quantity surveyors, consulting engineers, construction contract consultants, planning consultants, lawyers, etc.), as well as clients' internal teams and well understand the need for harmonious and seamless relationships throughout the team.

Writing technical specifications for rail projects is a particular skill area, in which we balance the need for the most advantageous tender price with those of minimising client exposure to cost and programme risk, while providing requirements to deliver appropriate quality and functionality. Evaluating tender the resultant tender responses is another core skill area, particularly in respect of the technical and programme elements, and probable risk exposure in these areas.
